College and Career Readiness

At New Tech, we are committed to preparing every student for success in both college and career, and our 100% graduation rate is a reflection of that dedication. We offer a wide range of academic opportunities, including Honors courses, Advanced Placement (AP) classes, and Dual Credit, allowing students to earn college credits while still in high school. Our strong AVID program builds college and career readiness by teaching essential skills like organization, critical thinking, and goal setting. In addition, our Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways in Film, Animation, and Video Game Programming give students hands-on experience with industry tools, certifications, and even internship opportunities through practicum courses. Students also benefit from a supportive college-going culture with access to a dedicated school counselor and a Higher Education Advisor through the EIF (Education is Freedom) program, who guide them through the college application, financial aid, and scholarship process.

What truly sets New Tech apart is that we are a Project-Based Learning (PBL) school, where students engage in real-world, collaborative projects that make learning meaningful and relevant. Through PBL, students develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for the demands of the modern workforce. We also assess students through School-Wide Learning Outcomes (SWLOs), which focus on essential 21st-century skills such as collaboration, agency (ownership of learning), oral and written communication, and knowledge and thinking. These outcomes are embedded into every course and project, helping students become confident, capable, and college- and career-ready learners.
