Profile by Student Journalist Camila Lucio:

Joseph Jenkins is the physics teacher at New Tech High School who is passionate about what he does in this establishment. Mr. Jenkins states that his strengths are, “My ability to see the big picture and to lead people, and I am passionate about what I do.” He is a teacher that many students like since he does value the relationship with his students, which makes it easier to learn. Some of his hobbies outside of school include camping, playing the guitar, and reading. He attended the University of Texas Dallas and obtained his Bachelor's Degree, then attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Masters degree. After completing his education he was a human rights lobbyist, and joined the U.S. Marines. Mr. Jenkins became interested in working at New Tech due to their PBL system; he liked the way students got to learn. He was able to try so many new things as a teacher due to the liberty of the system in our school.
